Crack Filling And Sealing
One of the biggest mistakes people make when it comes to cracks in their parking lot surface, is waiting too long to get them filled.
With time, cracks will only grow bigger, forming potholes and compromising the entire pavement surface. Crack filling is when hot sealant is used to fill cracks in pavement to prevent water from doing anymore damage. The sealant will adhere to the asphalt, keeping water and other natural elements from penetrating and exploiting the weakness in your pavement. Commercial parking lots often needs to be reinforced. Cracks are filled with strong, weather-resistant fillers that get the surface ready for coating. Edge-to-edge asphalt sealing services are available to protect/preserve your area from weather and vehicles. Crack filling is a fraction of the cost of repairing or replacing asphalt pavement. The key to effective crack filling and sealing is to repair and fill the cracks while they are small, as crack filling inhibits crack growth and keeps new cracks from forming.
THE PROCESS
Our process includes first cleaning all cracks with pressurized air. Vegetation and other impediments to crack sealing are cleared with a grazing wheel or, in cases of extreme blockage, a Taffa torch.
Cracks are then sealed using hot-applied rubberized joint sealant that exceeds Federal highway specifications. A light aggregate material is then applied to the hot rubber to improve adhesion to the pavement surface.
